The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care (ADDC) seminar is the required prerequisite training for healthcare professionals to apply to become a CDP. CDP Application Requirements
To apply for the CDP certification, one must successfully complete the ADDC Seminar and provide one of the following supporting documentation:
A copy of an active license or certification in the healthcare field
A copy of a college diploma or transcripts
A letter from an administrator if your position does not require a license, certification, or degree to hold your position

Before the Seminar registrants will receive:
A Microsoft Teams link for the session
Digital Student Handbook complete with practical tools and insights for ongoing learning.

Expectations during the Seminar:
Log-on to training approximately 10 minutes in advance to ensure video and microphone are working properly, and internet connection is stable.
Engage and offer feedback from your unique work and/or personal experiences
Maintain a professional demeanor and respect and openness to others’ ideas and shared experiences
Choose a quiet space where you can stay focused throughout the seminar.
Participation via Microsoft Teams requires audio and video (camera on) for the full duration to qualify for a Certificate of Completion.
Recording is strictly prohibited due to copyright protection.

Certificates of Completion will be emailed. To receive your certificate, you must attend the full training with your camera on and submit the Course Evaluation. This certificate serves as the required prerequisite for applying for certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner® (CDP) through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners® (NCCDP).
